Strategic Asia is now looking for Research Assistants in Economics and Politics-International Relations, who will assist Strategic Asia’s consultants in the production of the project’s outputs. Below are the requirements for each position:
1. Research Assistant (Economics)
a)Undergraduate degree in economics or relevant social sciences
b)At leastone year of experience in either administration or research, particularly academic research. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
c)Able to work in a team
d)Knowledge of various economic and statistical methods
e)Familiarity with Indonesian data sources
f) Ability to work under-pressure
g)Excellent oral & written skills in English
h)Interest in issues related to China, Indonesia, and India.
i) Proficiency in software applications is required, e.g., Excel and/or econometrics packages such as Stata, Eviews, SPSS, together with a knowledge of statistical and econometrics techniques and macroeconomic relationships.
2. Research Assistant (Politics and International Relations
a)Undergraduate degree in politics, international relations, or other relevant social sciences.
b)Strong analytical thinking on economic, political and social issues surrounding Indonesia, India, and China
c)At least one year of experience in research, particularly academic research. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply

e)Knowledge of historical, political, social and international relations issues
f) Familiarity with Indonesian data sources.
g)Ability to work under-pressure
h)Excellent oral & written English skills.

Description of the Work:
Under the general guidance and supervision of the General Manager, the Human Resources
Manager will plan, manage, control, coordinate and participate in human resources activities in
areas of recruitment, staff benefits, salary, industrial relations as well as recommending,
implementing, formulating and executing hotel policies including Accor policies, procedures,
rules, regulations and program for staff.
The incumbent will exercise a degree of initiative, independent judgment and resolve workplace
issues. However, judgment is expected to be applied to problem solving, decision making and
ensure that Accor values is hold in high esteem. This role also requires high level
communication skills.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. An understanding and hands-on experience of human resources issue.
2. Experience and sound knowledge in recruitment and resourcing, performance management
and learning and development.
3. To evaluate, interpret and implement HR policies and procedures and when appropriate
identify and or recommend areas for improvement.
4. To manage any industrial relation issues and ensures the compliance with the prevailing
labor laws and regulations and company regulations. The HR Manager is required to have
knowledge in labor laws and regulations.
5. To manage compensation and benefits and when appropriate recommend area for
improvement to the General Manager.
6. Undertake administrative work relating to HR monthly report, staff attendance record
including performance appraisal process.
7. Other duties of the position may include:
- Managing the internal and/or within group movement of staff whilst best utilizing
individual skills.
- Advise the General Manager or Executives Assistant Managers or HODs on any
sensitive personnel matters.
- Undertake other duties as directed by the General Manager.
External Relations:
1. To build and maintain positive interaction and good relationship with individuals outside the
hotel including but not limited to applicants, government officials and members of the local
community.
2. To build good external relations with local Manpower office or institutions and organizations
3. To build good relations with Accor Corporate Office and all HRMs in Accor Indonesia
network.
Compentencies, Skills and Experience Required:
- Formal education in Human Resources Management or related social discipline (Law,
Psychology) or equivalent professional qualifications.
Human Resources Management experience in a medium to large organisation or hospitality
industry is highly desirable.
- Good standard of written and spoken Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Demonstrated capacity to work independently, less supervision and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge and understanding of Indonesia labor laws and regulations.
- Have the capability to exemplifies personal drive and integrity including communicates with
influence.
- Good administration and documentation skills.
